| Health and Safety |
Monty’s Montessori School strives to create a healthy and safe environment for children, parents, staff and visitors of the school. The school under goes a thorough health and safety review at the beginning of each academic year to make sure that all safety procedures are up to date.
Consideration is given to the following criteria: -
● To provide and maintain a safe environment for children, parents and employees
● To ensure all employees are competent to do their tasks and to give them adequate training.
● To provide adequate control of health and safety risks arising from the staff’s work activities.
● To consult with all employees on matters affecting their health and safety.
● To consult with parents on matters relating to health and safety.
● To provide information, instruction and supervision for all employees.
● To prevent accidents and cases of work related ill-health
● To prevent accidents and cases of child related ill-health
● To maintain safe and healthy working conditions for staff and students.
The overall and final responsibility for health and safety is that of the principal, Carole Montana. Who is responsible for ensuring the policies are put into place on a daily basis. In the rare event of her absence these responsibilities are delegated to Lucy Haughian the deputy manager.
These include:
● The daily risk assessments
● The maintenance of the first aid box
● The maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene
The First Aid Marshals for the school are Carole Montana and Lucy Haughian. It is their duty to administer first aid in an emergency. |
