Medical Emergency Procedure
Upon discovery of an injured child, a teacher will attend to the injured child whilst another will take the remaining children away from the area. The attending teacher will administer appropriate first aid. If it is a back injury or other serious injury is suspected, the child should remain immobilised and the school will call 999. We will keep the child warm and calm. If necessary we will follow the ABC of First Aid, airway, breathing and circulation. If the child can be moved without further injury, then the principal will take the child to the hospital with the child’s medical consent form.

The child’s parents (or those designated on the emergency form) will be notified about the incident immediately. They will be requested to meet the child and principal at the hospital for consent and further treatment.

An outcome of accident form will be completed.
