Mission Statement

Monty’s Montessori is a school that celebrates the personality of each child by meeting their individual needs guided by the philosophy of Dr Maria Montessori.

We provide a warm, interesting learning environment which nurtures the childrens' social integration by allowing them freedom to choose and time to discover their place in the world.

Monty’s is a place where children can feel at home from home. This encourages a joy of learning, curiosity, creativity and imagination facilitating a positive foundation that will grow with them through out their entire education and beyond.

Using the Montessori philosophy the school full fills the national requirements for the foundation stage. We provide a curriculum that covers the six components of the early learning goals.

Aims

Our aim is to provide an outstanding early years education for the 21st century child.

To have a modern school that caters for children aged between two to five years.

To nurture the personality of each child and meet their individual needs through the Montessori Philosophy and the early learning curriculum.

To create a safe, structured and culturally diverse community where each child’s potential is realised and their individuality celebrated.

To provide a beautiful and interesting learning environment where children feel at home from home, which in turn promotes a joy of learning, encouraging curiosity, creativity and imagination. Forming a positive foundation that will grow with them throughout their entire education and beyond.

To have a school that strongly emphasises development of basic skills (language, mathematics and the cultural subjects), which are an essential foundation for higher learning. The school’s weekly timetable offers a variety of carefully selected activities that are designed to give children a well-balanced curriculum, which includes vocational, holistic and academic subjects.

To develop their social integration through individual and group learning. The open plan classroom provides ample opportunity for vertical grouping where children of all ages work and learn together. This allows them freedom to choose and time to discover their place in the world, as responsible, confident thinking individuals who are well equipped for life.

To employ Montessori directresses who are passionate about delivering a high standard of early childhood education. Who have a compassionate approach and understands the importance of following each child’s natural rhythm and developmental progress. Lateral thinkers who are team players and pioneers in their own right.

To have an open door policy and maintain a strong home school link, which allows parents and carers to become part of the schools ethos and the children’s learning experience. This partnership and open dialogue creates a family atmosphere, which provides the children with the opportunity to share their newfound experiences within their home environment.

To become a school that is proactive in it’s local community. To this end, once the school is well established, we aim to provide a number of full scholarships to children in care.
